I’ve been fortunate to work with some interesting people and businesses throughout my career.
I’ve worked behind the scenes with founders and CEOs, been part of important decisions, handled confidential projects, and taken on responsibilities that didn’t come with instructions.
Along the way, I’ve learned a lot about what I’m good at and what I enjoy.
I’m good at managing details and keeping things organized. I’ve done plenty of that.
But some of the things I enjoy most aren’t the ones that show up in a traditional job description. So I started wondering what a role might look like if I built it around them.
What I’d Actually Spend My Time Doing
Figuring things out.
I love a good puzzle, particularly when it involves people, processes, or a project that nobody quite knows how to tackle.
Asking questions.
I’m curious, and I like understanding the reasons behind things. Sometimes a different question is all it takes to see a better way forward.
Being someone people can think out loud with.
I enjoy exchanging ideas and considering different perspectives. I’m comfortable offering my opinion, even when it’s different from the one on the table.
Taking an idea and making it happen.
I like the creative side of coming up with possibilities, but I also enjoy working through the practical details and actually getting something done.
Understanding people.
I’m fascinated by what motivates people, how they communicate, and how differently they approach the same situation.
Making things easier.
Not everything needs another spreadsheet, another meeting, or a more complicated system. Sometimes there’s a simpler solution.
The People I Enjoy Working With
The people matter to me.
I enjoy working with people who care about what they’re doing, like exchanging ideas, and bring their own perspective to the conversation.
I appreciate humor, curiosity, honest communication, and the chance to learn from one another.
I’ve worked with many personalities and working styles, and I enjoy the variety.
For me, a good working relationship comes down to trust, mutual respect, and enjoying the work we’re doing together.
What I’d Bring
I’ve worked closely with executives across very different industries and learned a great deal about how businesses operate.
I bring practical experience, good judgment, resourcefulness, creativity, and a genuine interest in people.
I’m comfortable managing the details, and just as interested in the bigger picture.
I do my best work when I can think independently, offer ideas, and take responsibility for getting things done.
What Would the Arrangement Look Like?
Ideally, something part-time or fractional, around 20 to 30 hours a week.
A mix of independent work and collaboration, with enough flexibility to do the work well.
I’m based in Sonoma County and open to remote or thoughtfully structured hybrid opportunities.
The Right Fit
Much of my career has been spent in roles that were already defined. It’s been interesting to consider what I’d create if I started with the work I do best and enjoy most.
I’m not attached to a particular title. I’m looking for work where my experience and strengths are useful, and where I enjoy both the work and the people.
If that sounds like the working relationship you’re looking for, I’d love to connect.
